Hutchins, Asa

Pioneer, War of 1812 Veteran
Birth: April 23, 1786
Death: 1830, Selinsgrove, Snyder County, Pennsylvania

Military Service: Company Captain, 3rd (Hayes') Regiment, Ohio Militia, August 24 to November 11, 1812. This company contained many men from Vienna Township, including Hutchins' brothers Gurden and Samuel.[1]

Asa Hutchins' name appears on early Ohio tax lists, beginning in 1809 and in the townships of Vienna, Hartford, and Coitsville. He married Hannah Bushnell on January 7, 1811. The 1820 and 1830 Federal Censuses list the Hutchins family as living in Hartford.
