Viennapedia is a community project initiated and organized by the Vienna Historical Society. We  hope you'll find here the answers to your questions about Vienna's history or just learn more about this small township in Trumbull County, Ohio.

This encyclopedia is based on the topics and chapters in the out-of-print bicentennial history of Vienna Township (Vienna, Ohio, "Where We Live and Let Live": Town Four, Range Two of the Connecticut Western Reserve [Apollo, PA: Closson Press, 1999]). With the increasing accessibility to historical evidence provided by the Internet (digital reproductions of newspapers, for example), a richer and more accurate history of the Township may be compiled and constantly updated here.

Entries which originally appeared in the bicentennial history have been reviewed (when permitted by the author) for accuracy by reviewing the historical evidence and secondary sources and by further research.

Viennapedia is an ongoing endeavor, so please return! We are currently researching the impact of World War I (1914-1918) on Vienna Township.

We always welcome contributors and suggestions. We hope you'll help us. Let us know what you wish to know about Vienna's history. Let us know if you wish to participate in this project. Do you have materials (photographs, artifacts, film, documents) you would like to share? Do you have time to type some entries? Have you skills in scanning and other digital media? Let us know at inquiry@viennahistory.org.
